The Eternal Flame | Redstate #teaparty #tcot

The Tea Party movement is just a part of the conservative awakening in America. It focuses on fiscal issues, but these are inextricably linked to social and military ones.

We should have known that we had to be constantly watchful. But the liberals (in both parties) have gotten us into a nasty mess. Only by returning to her founding principles can America recover.

Amplify’d from www.redstate.com

At the recent Redstate Gathering, an attendee asked what we can do to push back the agenda of the left so that we can stop dealing with all of this stuff every day, and get things back to normal.

Jefferson might have answered that the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.  He was talking about us.  This is normal, friend — and to me it feels great.

Most Americans have culturally inculcated a deep respect for our Constitution and its traditions. We might quibble with this amendment or that one, or differ on the interpretation of one clause or another.  But we know that the United States Constitution stands across history as a flame burning bright, bright enough to call immigrants from across oceans, strong enough to guide us in our darkest hour.

We didn’t get here in two years, and we can’t undo the damage in two. Our country — our society — will take a long time to fix.  But fix it we must.

It begins, but does not end, November 2.

We're Coming For You - Nov 2

Randy Demmer, #MN01. #teaparty #tcot @consknight

Minnesota's 1st Congressional District is a rural farming area. The people there are conservatives. They live in the country so that no one can tell them what to do.

And they're represented in Washington by Tim Walz. This union sop wants or voted for:

- TARP

- Stimulus 1 and 2

- ObamaCare

- Cap and Trade

- DISCLOSE Act

- Card check

and most of all, Nancy Pelosi as Speaker.

Remember, no matter how much he talks himself up as a pro-gun moderate veteran, Walz would cast a vote for Nancy Pelosi, the San Francisco liberal, as Speaker. So none of his moderate views even matter.

The awesome @LisaDep on @AnnCoulter at #homocon

Over at Human Events, Lisa De Pasquale relates the story of Ann Coulter's appears at a meeting with GOProud, a group of gay conservatives.

As a social conservative, I am at once bothered and enthused by the existence of the GOProud group.

I'm bothered because I'd rather not hear about people's sexual intentions, be the straight, gay, or some odd fetish. That is a private matter, and it's against my nature to want to mix them with public politics.

But I'm enthused because in their politics the members of this group clearly put the interest of the nation above their own petty personal or clique interest. They aren't out marching for "gay rights", but are likely to have marched with Tea Partiers demanding liberty for all.

And putting nation before group is what it means to be a Republican.

Amplify’d from www.humanevents.com
I’ve attended dozens of Ann Coulter speeches over the years. They’ve been on college campuses, donor events, and conferences with thousands and thousands of people. It’s a common occurrence for reporters to lie about the event in order to suit their narrative and image of Coulter. But, after reading about an event this past weekend I felt like I was in an episode of “The Twilight Zone.”
Of course, reporters have no interest in reporting a largely successful event of open-minded conservatives. Talking Points Memo wrote, “Coulter also made a forceful case against sex education in schools, accusing liberals of attempting to teach kindergartners about ‘fisting’ (which garnered her a heckler, who shouted out ‘What's wrong with fisting?’) and told the crowd that most parents didn't want their children learning about the ‘homosexual lifestyle’ instead of reading and writing.”

What Talking Points Memo neglected to report is that the supposed “heckler” was Coulter’s friend and Fox News’s “RedEye” host, Greg Gutfeld. There was uproarious laughter by both the audience and the speaker herself. Read more at www.humanevents.com

#Rush, @MarkLevinShow, @SeanHannity: Please Push the Committeeman Project #teaparty #tcot

A caller to Rush's Monday show mentioned the Committeeman Project, an ally of http://ConcordProject.org.

I have a post up over at Redstate about the call. The caller said we should "take over the Republican Party". Head over to Redstate to learn more about it.

Amplify’d from www.redstate.com

I love conservative talk radio. In fact, it was Rush Limbaugh who I first heard mention Redstate, four years ago. I never dreamed how that one little click on a website would change my life, take me from harmless tech blogger to determined political activist.

I started writing here, commenting on other people’s posts, and getting to know the community. Then one day Erick announced that the site would be taking a more activist direction. No more navel-gazing treatises on the impact of Sir Francis Bacon on Enlightenment thought. We were going to do stuff.

It may seem a little dramatic to say “take over the Republican Party”, because really we’re going to reinvigorate it. Conservative PCs are going to fill the empty positions in the party ranks, and gently but firmly tell the people who are just there for the free coffee and the “greetings in the marketplacces” to move along. When the time comes to recruit candidates, we will have solid 3-pole conservatives to recommend.

Should O'Donnell back Castle write-in effort? #DESen #Teaparty

Rasmussen polling in Delaware suggests that Mike Castle's write-in campaign may be taking as much or more support from Democrat Coons than from Christine O'Donnell.

Delaware is a plurality-win state, so it's not necessary to get a majority to avoid a runoff election.

Amplify’d from www.rasmussenreports.com

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Delaware voters finds Coons with 49% support, while O’Donnell earns 40% of the vote. Castle, a longtime congressman who lost to O’Donnell in the state’s GOP Primary, picks up five percent (5%). Another five percent (5%) remain undecided. To see survey questions, click here.

Lower Taxes. Cut spending. Free the economy. Kill the unborn. Ol' Roy Barnes only favors the latter. #gagov

Good Ol' Roy Barnes is running for Governor of Georgia. A Democrat, Barnes would be a lapdog for Barack Obama and the Democrats in Washington, DC.  Rather than protecting the interests of Georgia, Ol' Roy would serve the special interests who are backing his campaign.

Ol' Roy is against lower taxes.

Keep in mind, when he says he wants to close loopholes what he's really saying is he wants to raise taxes:

When I first came to the General Assembly, there were only a handful of exemptions to the sales tax and income tax. Over the past several years, special interests under the Gold Dome have received tax breaks that only benefit them, and, as a result, we have eroded our tax base. Special-interest tax cuts are costing the state between $400 million and $800 million per year, and as governor I will stop these special-interest exemptions, ...

Ol' Roy is against cutting spending.

The education budget is a big chunk of state spending, and the biggest chunk of that is teacher pay.  While we all want quality schools for our children, throwing money at the teacher's unions is not the way to get it.  In these tough times, everyone but the teachers' unions seems to have to sacrifice.

... restore the cuts to K-12, and ensure that our teachers are receiving the pay they deserve.

Ol' Roy is against a free economy.

As a member of the Democratic Governor's Association, he supports an economic model in which government tinkers with the economy by giving businesses incentives, picking winners and losers based on the desires of their Big Union and

Big Green allies.  It's the same old Obama model, and it's not working.

Ol' Roy is for killing babies.

He used to be pro-life.  But then he matured, and realized that while some human life is important, it's more important to kill some other people he and his Washington handlers consider inconvenient.

This message was not paid for by anyone. I'm not paid to do political messaging, either directly or with a promise of later favor.

"Fire from the Heartland" is great. http://bit.ly/biXSBs from @Stephenkbannon and @Citizens_United #FIRE #FFTH

This is just a short review of Fire from the Heartland, a documentary from Stephen K. Bannon

Fire from the Heartland is the most inspirational film I have ever seen. It is 80 minutes of  imagery and testimony delivering an understanding of the Tea Party movement and the larger awakening of Americans who want to pass the country on to their children the way it was passed down to us.

But it's more than that.  Telling you how would be giving it away.

See it. You'll want to buy it -- as I have already done.

Dear Republicans Supporting Castle or Opposing @ChristineOD in #DESen #tcot

We've been hashing this thing out.  Let me distill the arguments.

You, the pro-Castle forces, wish to spend a marginal amount of effort defeating someone whose ideas you like and nominating someone you don’t so that you’ll have a minimal amount of work electing them. At that point you have an open-ended commitment to persuading them, time and time again, to vote with you. That open-ended commitment may at times scuttle your effort to defeat bad legislation or enact good legislation. You are, essentially, kicking the can down the road.

I wish to spend a greater amount of work nominating someone I do like, opposition research and all, followed by an even greater amount of work to try to elect them. If the other side wins, they win, and I will have an open-ended chance to notice that they do not vote with me. But if my side wins, I have a solid ally in the Senate.

And regarding the opposition research, mud dug up by the Castle campaign and in which the GOP establishment is happily wallowing: Christine O'Donnell's rent, her income, and some lawsuit she filed are distractions from the issues.  Should only the wealthy, or those who have never been involved in what later seems like a pointless lawsuit, be allowed to enter public office?  That would exclude me, for sure.

The key thing to note, though, is that there is precious little difference between 41 and 59 in the Senate. By the other races this year Republicans will pick up some seats. In all likelihood the GOP will hold between 43 and 50 seats, exclusive. So Republicans will be able to filibuster most things regardless of who wins in Delaware.

So suppose what we’re talking about here is the Senate majority. What does that get us?

The President is not going to sign Republican agenda items.  Neither house will have enough to override the veto.

So we're talking about not having Chuck Schumer (D-NY) or Little Dick Durbin (D-IL) Senate Majority Leader, and instead getting Mitch McConnell as Leader, along with the best committee assignments and chairs.

But what good is that — to us? To the Senate establishment it’s a big fat hairy deal. But to us?

Conservatives just want to block legislation. A solid filibuster, combined with owning the House, does that. We only need 51 to cement the power of the NRSC.

Thanks, but no thanks — I’ll take my chances up front.

Democrats, we're coming for you. You should probably keep dismissing us as racist flyover hatemongers, though.

You haven't reached us all yet.

I’d wager that when Krempasky, Domenech, and Trevino founded Redstate as a platform for Moe Lane’s snark, they didn’t realize that what they were really doing was preparing the way for The Concord Project.

But here we are. It’s 2010, under two months from the election that will determine whether the US will become a full socialist state, or having tasted it, will turn back to freedom.

There is now to be no excuse. The whole job is not yours! Only this one part. Each step will be laid out before you.

A friendly note to liberty.com #teaparty #tcot #DESen

I haven't watched the "Castle is teh gay" ad posted by Liberty.com as their big splashy opening.

And I won't.

But I know, as anyone should, that bringing that kind of charge into a campaign is bad, no matter with how much class it's done. "Bad" doesn't cover it.

  • It will (not might) cause a backlash against O'Donnell.

  • It says liberty.com is a sham.

  • It says liberty.com is made of stupid.

  • It sullies the Tea Party name.

Again, I don't need to watch the ad to say any of those things. Do you guys not read the news? States like Delaware are iffy on whether they're going to allow gay marriage, for goodness' sake. That should tell you something. Being gay, or having a gay affair, are not that big a deal with the electorate.

But they may be a big deal within a marriage. That you would sink to saying something publicly about a guy's private life says something about you.

And it says something about you, and therefore about Christine's supporters generally, that you would think having a gay affair would matter. It makes you sound desperate, and your preferred candidate, even if she had nothing to do with it, sound like a desperate sleazeball.

There are bigger issues at stake than some candidate's morals. So with spending in Washington out of control, with our government suing states for enforcing the law, with Democrats trying to set up a tax and a market for carbon dioxide, with our health care system on the verge of being intentionally collapsed into a single-payer human control mechanism, you want to talk about smut.

Stop it. Pull the ad, if you haven't. Stick to the issues.

Then apologize to your friends, your donors, to the Tea Party movement, to Mike Caste, and to Christine O'Donnell.
