Mark Kirk (R-IL) for US Senate #ILSen #tcot #teaparty

Republican Mark Kirk is running for United States Senate from Illinois. Congressman Kirk has represented Illinois' 10th District since 1998, and is running against Obama crony mob banker Alexi Giannoulias.  With strong stances on defense and economic issues, Kirk is the clear choice over Giannoulias.

The Illinois Senate ballot will actually contain two separate elections, one for the upcoming 6-year Senate term, and one for the remainder of Barack Obama's term. Obama was forced to resign in 2008 amid a scandal involving jailed former governor Rod Blagojevich. That means should he win Kirk would replace Roland Burris in the Senate to vote against the Obama agenda during the "lame duck" session.

With Harry Reid promising a vote on the DREAM Act, granting legal status to illegal immigrant students, having an immigration hawk like Kirk in the Senate during the lame duck session could decide the outcome.  Giannoulias is a sure vote for the entire Obama-Reid-Pelosi leftist agenda, being unable to name a single issue on which he would break from them.

Kirk is also strong on national defense issues, earning the endorsement of such groups as the National Defense PAC and Vets for Freedom. A military veteran of over 20 years in the Naval Reserves, Kirk has been a clear and consistent voice for a strong defense in the post-9/11 era.

Despite his backgound in mob banking, Alexi Giannoulias is really not that strong when it comes to economic issues.  The Illinois Chamber of Commerce has gone with Mark Kirk:

Mark Kirk has achieved a 7% rating from the AFL-CIO, indicating that he's against the union agenda that is crippling our government and economy.

A tax hawk, Kirk consistently votes to keep taxes low and the federal government within its constitutional limits.

For Tea Partiers, Conservatives, and any Republican, independent, or even Democrat who wants to stop the Obama-Reid-Pelosi agenda, Mark Kirk is the clear choice.

And he never made a loan to a mobster.
